Enabling work on Grade II listed buildings on Bristol’s Harbourside - September 07, 2017
Architectural Stone have recently been contracted by Speller Metcalf LTD to undertake an exciting new project on Bristol’s Harborside. The site which has sat derelict for nearly 40 years contains the shells of two Grade-II listed gas-works buildings, West Purifier House and Engine House.
We have been contracted to complete enabling work in preparation for the continuing development and regeneration of the area. We will carefully dismantle the grade-II listed walls making sure to number and pallet the existing stone in order to re-use the material in the new build.
In time, the approved plans will see these two buildings fully restored, including the iconic chimney of the Engine House. The scheme will also deliver improvements to the Harbourside Walk where it passes the site.
